Nick Cave, Warren Ellis and me
Like I need an excuse to blather on about the wonderful Nick Cave, but today sees the CD release (am I the only one left on the planet who still buys these things?) of The Road soundtrack - Cormac McCarthy book, film out on Friday - composed by the supremely talented antipodean rock God and his compadre, Warren Ellis. Swoon. That's Not My Age has been a massive fan of Cave and his not-so-merry band of men for ooh twenty odd years now, saw them live in Berlin as a student and recently caught Ellis playing violin and telling tales with the Dirty Three. With a combined age of 96 years, it's still rockin' out not rocking chair for this pair of bad old boys.
Not sure? Have a little listen to this beautiful piano track, The Beach.
Blimey...Debbie Harry, Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, am I starting to sound like an ageing rock chick?
