This weekend was a great weekend to enjoy "Madea's Big Happy Family" the movie pulled in $25.7 million and ranked number 2 at the box office behind Rio which made $26.8 Million. There is a good chance that Madea can catch up once all sales are counted.
Although "Madea's Big Happy Family" did well in theaters it is the first time a Tyler Perry movie didnt come in at the number one spot. In 2006, "Madea’s Family Reunion" opened with $30 million, and in 2009, "Madea Goes to Jail" made $41 million.
